Azure Updates: Private MEC; Managed Grafana; Database updates

CVP Tad Brockaway discussed the significance of Azure private MEC for partners. Microsoft first launched Azure private multi-access edge compute in June, 2021, in a bid to offer system integrators and operators high performance, low latency connectivity. Subsequently, at the Mobile World Congress, Microsoft made available Private 5G Core to support 5G core network functions deployment on Azure Stack Edge, or on-prem. Brockaway gave several examples of private MEC in action. Accenture has developed a video quality monitoring solution for manufacturing, Avanade offers real-time analytics for high risk jobs, and HCL is providing private biosecurity screening for airports.

Senior product marketing manager Arti Gulwadi announced the general availability of Azure Managed Grafana. The offering comes equipped with features announced during preview, as well as zone redundancy and Grafana v9.0 features. With the Availability Tests Geo Map dashboard for Azure Monitor application insights, customers can view geographic variations in app availability, while the Load Balancing dashboard for Azure Monitor network insights tracks key metrics for load balancing resources. The team also added Aggregate View and App View for Container Apps.
