AI Agent and Copilot Summit 2025: Microsoft, partners focus on agent-led scenarios
MSDW Insight: Microsoft's push to build critical mass with AI tools and services in the Business Applications realm (with help from partners) will require a careful blend of customer conditions including data-readiness, compelling use cases, and executive buy-in. For long-term success, performance and ROI will have to then deliver on the claims.
At least 2.1 million users of Microsoft Business Applications are already engaging with Copilots on a monthly basis, according to the company. And as product leaders make the case for even broader adoption of pre-built Copilots and AI agents, they will be looking to build momentum with both customers and partners.

Speaking to the event audience, Microsoft CVP Bryan Goode used the example of compiling research from internet sources, as an AI-based task that few people want to take the time to do themselves. Without an agent, they may never do such work when other pressing matters take up their time and attention. But setting a research agent to compile data from one or more high volume public sources becomes relatively easy with the right prompts, he pointed out.
