A field guide to unified admin environments

Writing on his blog, Anthony Blake stated that the move to the unified admin experience for D365 F&O is well under way. He noted that the unified admin replaces the older lifecycle services (LCS) tools for managing environments with tools in the Power Platform admin center (PPAC).

Blake wrote that all the environments created for new projects are now managed through unified admin in PPAC. For existing projects, Microsoft no longer supports linking cloud hosted environments to Power Platform environments.

According to Blake, Microsoft is also making progress on the process for moving existing projects from LCS to PPAC. Development of this migration process is now at an advanced stage, and it will likely become generally available before the end of the year. This means the end of LCS is getting closer.

With that change in mind, Blake stated that he has spent the past several months setting up and using environments managed through the new unified admin experience in PPAC. In his post, Blake went over several important things he's learned along the way.

Using routes for accurate costing

On the Encore Business Solutions blog, Nico Papajani wrote that many of his conversations with manufacturers begin with the same problem: figuring out the true cost of production.
