RSAT deprecation: What Dynamics 365 customers should be doing now

An author writing on the Ellipse Solutions blog stated that Microsoft has officially announced that it will stop supporting the Regression Suite Automation Tool (RSAT) on May 15, 2027. After that date, the company will no longer provide technical support, bug fixes, updates, or new features.

The author pointed out that for many Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management customers, the announcement is not a surprise. Microsoft has been signaling for years that RSAT was no longer a major focus and was not part of its long-term strategy.

However, the author noted that the message was sometimes unclear. While Microsoft indicated that development would slow down or stop, it continued releasing small fixes and updates, including some in 2025. That left many customers uncertain about the tool's future.

Now, though, the author wrote that Microsoft has made its plans clear. Organizations that rely on RSAT should start preparing for alternative testing solutions before support ends in 2027. In the blog post, the author explained why RSAT deprecation makes sense.
