How to create a computed column in a view through X++ in D365 F&O

Writing on his blog, Vishal Sahijwani stated that computed columns in D365 Finance and Operations are very useful when you need to add values to a view that are calculated on the fly using SQL.

Sahijwani wrote that instead of saving these values in a table, you let the system calculate them at runtime. He pointed out that this helps improve performance and cuts down on storage because the system doesn't need to store extra data.

In his post, Sahijwani explained more about how the issue may arise and provided step-by-step instructions on how to create a computed column in X++ that pulls a value from a table in D365 F&O based on a value returned from a data source in an AOT query.
