Microsoft Dynamics SMB ERP general manager Marko Perisic prepares to depart company
"To say that this was a hard decision, would be an understatement," he wrote today. "Microsoft has been a source of tremendous learning, a place of inspiration, motivation and success, both personally and for the business. It has in many ways become home. And home is a place that is hard to leave. Before I get into the reasons why I am leaving, I would first like to say many thanks to many people."
Perisic has been with Microsoft for twelve years and has led the Dynamics NAV and then the overall SMB ERP engineering group (GP, NAV, SL, and C5) since 2015. His role expanded after the departure of Paul White in 2017, when Perisic appeared to take on at least some of the traditional commercial responsibilities of the business, too.
He also said a little about where he will go next:
"I am embarking on a journey in the HR software space. It is massively challenging. It will be a lot of hard work. It will not be comfortable. It will be painful. It is where I believe, that ultimately, I will learn more. This has always been a driving force in my career, and it always will."
"It's a shame to see him go because he is so well regarded. But at this point the potential is in product Marko has created more than the man himself," says James Crowter, a Microsoft MVP and leader of Technology Management in the UK.
