Do Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central partners need R&D teams? Contrasting approaches frame the debate
Microsoft may believe that the recent successful launch of Dynamics 365 Business Central sets the stage for smooth growth and expansion. But a recent spirited dialog amongst mid-market ERP veterans will help to clarify that the challenges that lie ahead will take some time and effort to address.
The increasing pressure on current and future Business Central SaaS partners, most of whom are veterans of legacy ERPs like Dynamics NAV and GP, to plan for a changing future is the real topic at hand. A recent exchange by two NAV channel veterans (and also both MSDW contributors), Guus Krabbenborg and James Crowter, caught the attention of the partner community and is expected to lead to a new panel discussion at Directions EMEA, running October 29 to 31.
The crux of their debate revolves around how much development capacity Microsoft VARs need in order to build a profitable business around Business Central.
