Bedrock Data has launched Fusion, a SaaS solution that automates the management of customer-focused data across multiple cloud applications.

Fusion can match common records, de-duplicate, and carry over object relationships from contact to account to task ticket, explained Bedrock Data vice president of marketing Zak Pines. Its differentiator, he says, is automation, which significantly shortens data preparation, warehousing, and BI projects.

"Fusion automates getting data out of your applications, so you can leverage your reporting tools of choice. Customers can do this quickly and easily themselves. It's not a consulting project. We cut out the traditional extraction, cleaning, and warehousing steps so customers can focus on analyzing their fused data. Right now, eighty percent of an analytics project is data prep. Fusion brings this down to zero. This gives executives better visibility into their business and customers."

Pines told us that Fusion extends the company's existing data integration and synchronization business, and was heavily influenced by customer demand.

"Syncing data between applications is one use case. We're seeing Microsoft Dynamics data being combined with data across the business, from marketing, support, finance, billing and more - and turned into a  onsolidated ‘fused' view of the customer."

Fusion's approach to automating access and creating a unified view of customer data follows four steps: connecting to SaaS applications via pre-built connectors; "fusing" data across different sources to create a unified record; building a data warehouse with a standardized schema in MySQL; and providing standard SQL keys to access the warehouse via reporting, dashboard, and analytics ...
