Microsoft Dynamics Profile: Sharing Knowledge Can Change the World, Says New NAV MVP
"The best-laid schemes of mice and men often go awry," goes a (modernized) line from the poet Robert Burns. A recent event experienced by first-time Microsoft Dynamics NAV MVP Tharanga Chandrasekara illustrates the meaning of that famous line.
Right around Christmas Day in 2015, Chandrasekara, who hails from Sri Lanka, received an email from Microsoft alerting him that he had been named a Microsoft Dynamics NAV MVP for the first time. But there was a caveat - it wouldn't be official until January 1, 2016.
Excited, Chandrasekara, a Dynamics NAV technical consultant and senior software engineer at ZILLIONe in Colombo, Sri Lanka, shared the good news with his mother.
"She was very happy, but I asked her not to tell anyone until Microsoft sent the official email on January 1," he says. "In the initial email, Microsoft recommended setting up an email filter so the award email wouldn't go to your junk folder."
So Chandrasekara did as Microsoft suggested and he waited. He even took his mobile phone to bed with him on New Year's Eve and checked his email after midnight.
But nothing from Redmond. Needless to say, Chandrasekara was a bit worried.
