Mekorma Invests for the Future with Microsoft Dynamics GP MVP Hire

Check printing and EFT automation solution vendor Mekorma has hired Microsoft MVP and Dynamics GP veteran Mariano Gomez as the newest member of its R&D team. The company has also solidified a partnership with another GP MVP, David Musgrave, who will work also work with the company in a product development capacity, as well as to distribute his own firm's GP Power Tools and Batch Posting Service Toolkit.

The hiring of Gomez is part of an effort by Mekorma leadership to work on its next generation of solutions for the Dynamics GP market, says Jay Manley, head of product development. He will also be working alongside another R&D hire from the last year, Lee Butenhoff, a Great Plains and Microsoft veteran.

"Beyond being an expert in GP development, Mariano's years [as an implementer] bring us that customer touch that is so valuable," says Manley.

Mekorma isn't revealing its future product plans yet, but Manley noted that it is exploring ways to leverage GP's Service Based Architecture (SBA) as a toolset to extend GP and push data to and from customers.

The partnership with Musgrave, who recently became a Microsoft MVP after a year away from his previous role at Microsoft, serves to extend availability and support of his own tools, as well as to collaborate with him on new R&D, says Manley.

GP Power Tools, previously known as the Support Debugging Tool, includes tools for managing security, database validation, GP usability enhancements, and scripting, among others. Musgrave reached an agreement with Microsoft to continue supporting the product, ...
