Microsoft Dynamics Profile: Celebrating NAV's Unique Benefits

Marije Brummel considers herself a "freelance all-round Microsoft Dynamics NAV specialist" who is focused upon helping end users of the product. A freelancer since 2006 based out of Olst in the Netherlands, she first used Navision in 1997 and later worked for eight years with NAV partners. When Microsoft introduced the three-tier architecture in 2009, she trained most of the experienced NAV developers and consultants in The Netherlands and Belgium in the new architecture.

Brummel is a charter member of Partner Ready Software, an initiative led by a group of Dynamics NAV technical professionals that began in 2011, aimed at professionalizing the channel's software development efforts. The group in 2014 played a significant role in the NAV community's effort to publish design patterns in collaboration with Dynamics NAV R&D team. She has also authored the new book Learning Dynamics NAV Patterns, which will be published by Packt just before October's NAVUG Summit 2015, where she will also be leading sessions.

Brummel had just returned from teaching a NAV workshop in the UK - another stop on her 2015 tour that has included Japan, Romania, Iceland and Toronto - when she agreed to participate in a new interview. She took the time to tell us more about her experience and learnings, and how she shares them.

MSDW: You have been using NAV for how long?
