To build smarter sales processes in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015, use new tools together

Jukka Niiranen, Dynamics CRM consultant at Digital Illustrated in Finland and Microsoft MVP, explained in a recent MSDynamicsWorld.com webcast and in a follow up blog post how the configuration and customization tools in Dynamics CRM can help administrators make a range of updates without writing any code.
In the webcast, Niiranen explored the advanced process automation tools available in Dynamics CRM 2015 (and 2013) and offered ideas and guidance on how to use these tools to optimize processes for lead qualification, opportunity revenue estimation, and pipeline development.
Niiranen's key, overarching message: You don't have to be a .NET developer to build some pretty cool new features for your Dynamics CRM solution.
The point and click configuration/customization tools of Dynamics CRM have come a long way, and the ratio of customer code vs. configuration in typical CRM solutions is decreasing, he said. However, solution delivery often requires the creative combination of several CRM configuration options, i.e., what are the right tools for the right job, he added.
"The emphasis is on the word ‘combination,' since very often you'll need to use several different pieces of the platform's customization tools to achieve the end result," he wrote in his follow up post.
However, you can't learn this just by reading the official product documentation that typically focuses on the introduction of one feature at a time, he said.
