Microsoft Dynamics VARs, ISVs among fastest growing of 2013

The new Inc. 5000 list is out, and at least 10 Microsoft Dynamics VARs and ISVs are on it.  This year's list ranks companies based on the highest revenue growth from 2009 through 2012.

Some of the Dynamics-related businesses on the list, which is US-based, have been there before. Ignify celebrated its 5th consecutive year on the list, with 2012 revenue of $17.5 million and 154% revenue growth since 2009. Sonoma Partners has also been on the list multiple times and comes in with 107% growth since 2009 and $17 million in revenue. And Marketo, a relative giant competing in the Dynamics space, checked in with $58.4 million on an impressive 1205% growth over three years.

Most of these names are at least recognizable to people working in the Dynamics ecosystem. There are undoubtedly other companies that are growing as fast (or nearly so) but either choose to sacrifice the publicity for the sake of their financial privacy or miss out for another reason. 

In terms of revenue per employee, eBridge appears to be the big winner out of the set we found, with a reported $862,500 in revenue per employee.  But we also discovered that calculating revenue per employee - something Inc. doesn't explicitly do - does not always tell an accurate story.  Ecommerce software and services provider i95Dev, with the lowest revenue per employee ratio, explained to us that in their application for the list they counted employees from a development center in India whose costs are actually shared with a sister company.
