HTML5 Mobile, Tablet App for Microsoft Dynamics CRM Will Cover for Lack of iPad Safari Support in Fall 2012 Release

The Microsoft Dynamics CRM Fall 2012 release will include cross-browser compatibility, but it will not support Safari on the iPad, Microsoft revealed on a recent partner update call.
Microsoft spent a good deal of time at WPC 2012 trying to clarify how it will clean up the now scrapped Q2 2012 Service Update, which has morphed, for the most part, into the Fall 2012 Release that will include mobility and cross-browser capabilities. Rather than standard browser support for the iPad in the fall release, there are apparently bigger plans to come for a separate HTML5 based app at a later date.
As Dynamics CRM consultancy SyncraTec's blog explained, a "specific mobile companion application" built on HTML5 is in the works, due sometime after the Fall 2012 release and is intended for use on tablet devices. It's thought that an HTML5-based application will work with any of Windows 8, iPad, or other tablet-type devices (e.g., Android), though Microsoft has yet to clarify with us directly. A Microsoft representative confirmed that while Safari support is still planned, the app strategy is also an important component. In their words:
"As the team works towards supporting Microsoft Dynamics CRM online on multiple platforms, they are broadening the mobile strategy by taking an app approach on the iPad to give customers the best experience possible on the device. ...
