African Non-Profits and NGOs Focus on Mission as Serenic Nonprofit Software Manages Accounting with Microsoft Dynamics NAV

Serenic Corp.'s Serenic Navigator nonprofit accounting software is helping 13 nonprofit, international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and public sector organizations in Africa better manage their accounting processes so they can focus on improving the health, quality of life, the environment and the economy of that country.

Serenic implemented Navigator, which is built on the Microsoft Dynamics NAV platform, with the help of its partner Techno Brain Ltd., an African IT solutions provider.

Because these organizations are operating with separate, decentralized offices and staffs and dealing with distinctly different country rules, languages and currencies, they need access to reliable information in real-time. And they have to be able to provide timely, accurate reports to funding sources across multiple countries and regions-reports that demonstrate they're using their grant money appropriately.

But those things are hard to do because the organizations are operating with separate, disconnected systems and because their ability to share critical data across their organizations is limited. In order to operate more efficiently, they had to find a way to overcome those challenges. They needed tools that would free them up from the day-to-day administrative tasks so they could focus on accomplishing their goals and improving life in Africa.

"The big issues for these organizations is being able to track all the different grants and being able to communicate and transfer data back and forth from Africa back to the U.S., where the organizations are based," said Steve Glauber, Senior Systems Engineer at Serenic. "We're helping them do that."
