The AX User Group Sees Big Benefits in Year Ahead from New Web Site, Use of Dynamics CRM
Two days before 2009 calendars become obsolete, the AX User Group, or AXUG, held an online year in review to encapsulate 2009's most noteworthy moments and planned endeavors for 2010.
"[The upcoming year] will bring significant expansions for the Dynamics user communities," said Dynamic Communities CEO Andy Hafer in a later interview. "The key leadership among the members has expanded to have a great cross-section of each community, including users from companies across industries, sizes, geographies, etc. This has allowed us to really hone the programming for each constituent. You will see expanded training courses, deeper content, more special interest groups and stronger collaboration with other communities, including Microsoft's Online Dynamics Community."
Headlining the busy year was AXUG's Summit 2009 in Chicago, which had 476 total attendees and a number of additions and changes, including a move from tracks to focus areas for content delivery and the inclusion of special interest groups at the seminar. With Microsoft's Dean Lester, general manager of the Windows graphics and gaming technologies, delivering the opening lecture, 96 total sessions were conducted. Planning for AXUG Summit 2010 in Orlando, Fla., is already underway.
One of the more substantial milestones from 2009 was the presentation of 118 various webinars throughout the year, bringing the total archived library to 250. Other highlights include the amassment of 20 active regional AXUG chapters that span the globe, and the running of 17 special interest group meetings. These ran the gamut of topics from AX 2009 to internal controls and compliance. A bevy of workshops and roundtables were also conducted, further adding to the available resources for users within the AX community.
