Commvault, Microsoft ink new SaaS data protection partnership

Commvault announced a multi-year agreement with Microsoft to integrate its Metallic SaaS data protection portfolio with Azure and increase efforts in the Microsoft channel.

Metallic is aimed at preventing accidental deletion of Office 365 data, as well as SQL database backup or endpoint protection. This is not the company's first integration with Azure. Preview efforts have focused on scalability and security for Blob storage.
