Upcoming Microsoft Dynamics Business Analyzer releases will add iOS app, new integrations

Part of Microsoft's strategy is to deliver rapid business intelligence (BI) and reporting value to customers. To that end, Business Analyzer, the touch enabled, tablet-friendly report viewing tool for Microsoft Dynamics ERP, allows customers to connect to and report on ERP data so you can easily consume it, said Errol Schoenfish, director product management at Microsoft, at the recent MSDynamicsworld.com webcast The Future of Business Analyzer (BA) for Microsoft Dynamics ERP.

Microsoft Dynamics Business Analyzer 

Currently, Business Analyzer is available on Windows 8 and 8.1 tablet or PC and on Windows 8 phone for Dynamics GP, AX and SL, said Brian Meier, Dynamics GP senior lead program manager, who was also speaking at the webcast. It will be available for iOS devices with the R7 release in the July time frame and further down the line on Android devices.

"That's the first time we will be going across platforms, so it will be available in the Windows Store and the Apple Store," he said. "We want to get the Android as well but the biggest ask from our customers is for the iPad."

Meier also talked about the content available for each ERP app.

"Currently Excel content is not available for Dynamics AX," Meier said. "We need to update the services for AX for that content to come across. It will not be available for the R6 release but we are working with that team to see what features and functionality they want to add to their service.
