A Tale of AP and AR Automation: Metafile Increases Focus on Microsoft Dynamics, Launches New Reseller Program

Central Maintenance and Welding Inc. (CMW) was looking for a way to transition its accounts payable (AP) and paper-based account receivables (AR) functions from 100% paper-based to 100% paperless.

Leonard Bethea, CMW's IT director, said by introducing standard operating procedures and moving its procure-to-pay process (P2P) from paper-based to paperless the company would operate more efficiently and accurately and as well as save money.

Bethea said he also saw an opportunity to integrate the automated P2P process with CMW's Microsoft Dynamics GP solution to generate real return on CMW's ERP investment.

CMW was looking for an AP and AR document management solutions provider that could leverage technology to standardize and automate its AP/AR processes, and one that could integrate its solution with the Dynamics GP environment, according to Bethea.

So in late 2009, after evaluating a number of AP/AR document management and workflow solution providers, the Lithia, Florida-based company selected Metafile Information Systems Inc.'s MetaViewer AP/AR document management and workflow solution to do just that.

Doug Bertram, Metafile's Midwest regional sales manager, explained that MetaViewer for Dynamics adds integrated eInvoicing, workflow, and document imaging to Microsoft Dynamics AX, GP, NAV and SL solutions in order to automate a company's accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

"Users can view all the associated documents and reports from within their Dynamics application," he said. "Users can call Dynamics and be presented with the exact transaction in Dynamics with a click of a button from within MetaViewer. And they can automatically post general ledger coding data from the invoice directly to Dynamics with no data entry or errors."
