SPLA Subscription Licensing Announced for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013

Subscription licensing of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 will be available on January 1 2013 according to GP product manager Pam Misialek, writing on the Inside Microsoft Dynamics GP blog.  This will come just a month after the planned general availability of the new release in December 2012.

Price points for SPLA are available now on PartnerSource.

In other GP 2013 licensing news, Misialek  revealed an adjustment to the perpetual licensing rules - access to Dynamics GP data and features via external interfaces like Excel or SRS Reports will no longer require a Limited User license.  Here's the full text of the post:

"In Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 we are introducing a new user type, the limited user.  Limited Users have a login to Microsoft Dynamics GP and get access to inquiry windows and reports.  Business Portal is now in the starter pack with unlimited users plus all of the functionality.  Even though Light Users turn into Limited Users the functionality does not go to the Limited User.

Also, I have an update on what is in the Limited User.  Previously I stated that Business Analyzer and other properties that sit outside of Microsoft Dynamics GP like Excel Reports and SRS Reports would need a Limited User.  We are changing this rule.  The only time you need a Limited User is if you are logging into Microsoft Dynamics GP."
