Smarsh announced that its Enterprise Archive offering is now available for Azure, centered around data retention and governance. For companies facing growing compliance requirements, the offering is intended to make content producible and searchable across 80 different communications channels. The offering leverages Azure VMs and Managed Disks for scalability, while also focusing on geographic flexibility, extensibility through APIs and availability with Azure Availability Zones.

In its move to Azure, Smarsh sought to take advantage of the cloud service's scalability, availability and security. Additionally, the company aimed "preserve the richness and complexity" of data from Microsoft platforms like Yammer, Teams and SharePoint Online.
