SimCrest Inc., a Microsoft Dynamics ERP partner with solutions in manufacturing, distribution, professional services, and other verticals, has partnered with SaaSplaza, an open software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform and a global operating Microsoft "Software + Services Incubation Center", to offer cloud-based hosting of Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

SimCrest plans to start delivering its Dynamics NAV-based solutions to start-ups and SMBs in a cloud offering to get the most out of Microsoft Dynamics NAV while saving money, according to the companies. Businesses can to remotely access fully-functional Microsoft Dynamics NAV at a monthly subscription price via SaaSplaza's SaaS platform, company officials said.

"Under our partnership, SimCrest is able to deliver their Dynamics NAV solutions on the SaaS model and broaden their reach by competing in the growing cloud ERP market," said Olivier Meynier, SaaSplaza US Director, in a statement.

Essentially businesses can have their software hosted externally and be able to access it from their office, home, or anywhere out on the road, in real time, according to John Stevens, Vice President of SimCrest.

Stevens said compared to an on-promise application, the pay-as-you-go model of an on-demand application can help SMBs save money upfront.

"In addition to lowered cost of ownership, there are many other benefits Software-as-a-Service can bring to businesses, such as global accessibility, improved data security and reduced IT expenditure," he said in the statement. "This is going to be great for our clients to give them the option to have Cloud-based computing for a robust ERP system such as Dynamics NAV. Our new offering gives them the flexibility to decide which option is a better fit for their specific needs."
