Sikich Technology Practice Leads the Way on Company's Multi-Year Growth Plan
Jim Drumm makes it sound easy, but he's a key part of an ambitious plan to grow the advisory firm Sikich LLP into a national player.
"Companies on the east coast are transforming from on-premise solutions to the cloud, and the west coast is embracing it even more," says Drumm, partner-in-charge of Sikich's technology practice. "Our 10-year plan is to grow technology services from a $60 million practice into a $250 million one by moving into those areas."
Naperville, Ill.-based Sikich's recent acquisition of Altico Advisors is the first step in that direction, says Drumm. He notes that Sikich, which offers accounting, investment banking, advisory, and technology services, has grown roughly 20 percent a year for the last 20 years. The technology practice is a member of Microsoft Dynamics Inner Circle and specializes in ERP, CRM, cloud, business intelligence, and security for mid-market companies. Altico has a similar client base with a focus on Microsoft Dynamics GP, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and NetSuite.
"Altico, located just outside Boston, has a solid on-premise GP practice with a couple of hundred clients that is moving clients to the cloud. They've jumped up to a tier 1 NetSuite provider and are moving a lot of GP organizations to Azure," says Drumm. "We want to embrace that and bring that NetSuite practice back to the center of the country."
