Servicing Microsoft Dynamics AX Without Headaches? One Firm Focuses on Easy Requests, On Demand Delivery

For any Microsoft Dynamics AX customer tired of too much selling from their Microsoft partner in order to get to the needed service and support, there has never been a better time to be in the market for new options in post-implementation expertise.

From traditional service arrangements with Microsoft Dynamics VARs to pay by the minute support platforms to stripped down consultant-to-customer delivery arrangements, the range of support models and providers today allows customers to fine tune their approach to investing in professional services in ways that may not have existed as little as two or three years ago.

We recently looked at how Online Dynamics Support has modeled their business around connecting qualified Dynamics technicians with customers in a matter of moments, with frictionless online payments and all work performed via desktop sharing and online collaboration. The model has engaged not just independent Dynamics experts, but also some Dynamics partners looking for a new way to formalize their support and operate it separately from regular delivery activities.

But in today's Dynamics ecosystem, delivery options for post-go-live services are changing quickly. Microsoft's cloud-first incentives and support plans for partners should lead to a rise in faster, lower cost deployments of new solutions, accompanied by support plans that engage customers and keep revenue flowing over years. That's the plan, at least.

Regardless of changes that Microsoft is pushing in its partner channel, technology service providers still build their brand on trust, and they fuel it on the delivery of services. But what if the mechanism spurring that services delivery were to involve no sales cycle? That's the challenge ...
