Salesforce announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire field service management solutions vendor ClickSoftware.

The deal is worth about $1.35 billion, to be purchased with a mix of cash and stock.

ClickSoftware will join Salesforce's Service Cloud area, alongside Field Service Lighting, the  company's mobile field service and dispatch solution.

"Our acquisition of ClickSoftware will not only accelerate the growth of Service Cloud, but drive further innovation with Field Service Lightning to better meet the needs of our customers," said Bill Patterson, EVP and GM of Salesforce Service Cloud (and former GM of Microsoft Dynamics CRM solutions) in a statement.
