Review: Does the New Cloud Time Tracking Function in Dynamics GP 2015 Help or Hurt?

It's been a pretty big year for Microsoft and their latest Dynamics GP 2015 product release, which ushers in a significant upgrade to the venerable ERP solution as Microsoft makes leaps in its core focus. The discontinuation of Business Portal in GP 2015, increased integration with Microsoft Azure and other cloud services, and a greater focus on mobile devices are just a few of the improvements Dynamics GP 2015 brings to the table.

Among the changes, one significant update is the introduction of new time tracking features in Dynamics GP. While a welcome addition for many users, how do the new timesheet and time tracking features really stack up? Are they up to the task for most users' needs, or are they lacking?

The Pros of Dynamics' New Time Tracking Features

Speaking of Dynamics GP's time tracking features, Microsoft employee Terry Heley writes:

"The entire employee self-service is now built into Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015. We had Timecards in GP 2013 R2 and now Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 includes it all.

Employee Paystubs - no more printing of checks or earnings statements, now your employees can view their pay check information online.

A nice addition here, we added pay period begin and end dates to the form and REMOVED social security ...
