Microsoft kicked off its participation in the HIMSS 2019 healthcare conference by highlighting new capabilities in Teams relevant to healthcare organizations.

Urgent notifications, available in private preview, allow push notifications to mobile and desktop every two minutes for up to 20 minutes, while message delegation allows healthcare professionals, like surgeons, to hand off to colleagues while they are occupied. To tap into ever expanding electronic health record (EHR) use in hospitals, workers can use the care coordination functionality to access patient records or launch a video call securely from within the app. Other updates include templates for different team channels, mobile message federation, creating shift schedules and securely sharing smart camera images.
