Podcast Review: Getting ready for the Fall 2018 Microsoft Dynamics 365 release wave
Steve Mordue, a Microsoft MVP and founder of RapidStartCRM joined the MSDW podcast to talk about changes in the Microsoft Dynamics ecosystem after the close of Inspire and the Business Apps Summit. The conversation focused on what companies should prepare for with the Fall 2018 wave of releases.
Reacting to Inspire and the Business Apps Summit
Mordue attended the Inspire conference in Las Vegas and the flew to the Business Apps Summit in Seattle just a few days later.
As a hybrid of past events, the Business Apps Summit was mostly well received by attendees. "It seemed like a pretty well-oiled machine...I thought the sessions and the content were great and seemed like a good mix of customers and partners," he said. Power BI and Dynamics customers often ended up in different tracks at the conference. ERP and CRM customers have followed this dynamic in the past, according to Mordue and Power BI is becoming a "third little tribe," at the newly formulated conference.
One of the reasons why it was such a good conference was that there was so much to talk about. [Microsoft issued the Fall release notes] publicly, and since James Phillips arrived they have really been in warp drive.
Business Apps Summit, and the newly published release notes for Microsoft business apps, reinforced the rate at which Microsoft plans to move all products forward in the future. Partners need to sift through those new release notes and updates every six months. Mordue explained his view:
