Murray Fife evolves his Microsoft Dynamics AX self-publishing strategy with subscriptions
Murray Fife's Microsoft Dynamics AX content crusade continues. The AX MVP and I.B.I.S. solution architect's new site, Dynamics AX Companions, aims to reorganize the range of content he has been producing in recent months, including slide decks, articles, book series (that's multiple series...), and more. And he's offering it up with a new subscription-based model on the new site that will push his self-publishing efforts into a new phase.
One of Fife's ongoing projects is a seventeen part Dynamics AX 2012 Bare Bones Configuration Guide. There are five books completed so far, and they are full of screenshots and instructions, ranging in length from a little over a hundred pages to nearly six hundred for some parts. As part of the new approach, readers who become premium subscribers (for a monthly fee) will gain access to his latest book drafts and related collateral files. The latest at the moment is a draft of Configuring Cash Management Within Dynamics AX 2012. His published books will continue to be sold in electronic and paper formats.
So, you may be asking - why seventeen new books on basic AX functions? Doesn't Microsoft employ a team of content writers for AX documentation who cover these things? Well, they do.
