Microsoft to Retire Dynamics GP Risk Management Suite, Concur Integration

UPDATE: Since this article was first published Microsoft has made a new announcement on this decision, clarifying its reasons for ending some OEM agreements for Dynamics ERP and returning control of solutions to ISVs.

Microsoft Dynamics GP will be removing its core audit reporting and electronic signature capabilities, also known as the Risk Management Suite, from the price list effective December 1, 2012, according to the company. Also departing the price list on December 1 is the Concur Expense Integrator, an a la carte offering that integrates Concur Travel and Expense services with GP

The changes, which were reported in an announcement to partners, were timed to coincide with other planned updates to pricing and packaging of Dynamics GP. 

The dropping of the Risk Management suite stems from a decision by Microsoft that these capabilities are "best served by the broad and healthy partner ISV ecosystem through the Dynamics Marketplace," according to a representative. 

According to Microsoft, Merit Solutions will be picking up support of Risk Management for new and existing customers who wish to purchase Risk Management solutions, and there is more information on the Microsoft Dynamics Marketplace.

The Concur integration, first announced in May 2010 with what seemed to be some strong interest at Convergence 2010, allows customers to integrate their approved expense report data from Concur Travel and Expense into the  Dynamics GP Payables Management module with a simple import tool.  According to Microsoft, the integration is not ...
