Microsoft Releases Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 R2 Early

The Dynamics GP team has announced the availability of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 R2.  Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 R2 builds on the foundation shipped just under one year ago in the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 release with key themes of Enhancing Insight, Making It Easier and Extending Connections.

Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 R2 was scheduled for general availability on May 1, but its development organization was so excited about this release it wanted to get it out early, according to a blog post.

Overall highlights of GP 2010 R2 include:

  • Shipping on time and less than one year from Microsoft Dynamics GP2010 RTM
  • Over 50 additional features
  • Industry leading business intelligence with enhancements to SQL Reports, Word Templates, and Email
  • Release of Business Analyzer that adds value to Light Users and extends the reach of ERP to everyone in the organization

The new release will:

  • Enhance insight into role-specific information through an improved user interface and personalized dashboards, quickly delivering information that's relevant to the actions people are taking or the information they are viewing.
  • Make it easier with Microsoft Word-based templates for all documents thus replacing paper forms. Complete tasks with improved approval workflow and electronic signature capabilities, helping people save time while managing compliance and helping to reduce fraud
  • Extend connections through Action Shortcuts, which are now connected with Microsoft Lync 2010 instant messaging windows, bringing information about the people who are chatting and their companies to the user's ...
