The Microsoft Dynamics GP team has announced the release of GP 2013 Service Pack 1 today.  The release date is in line with the mid-April guidance from Convergence 2013.

"Now that Service Pack 1 is out, it is time to upgrade to Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013!!" wrote senior support escalation engineer Kelly Youells on the GP service and support blog. Indeed, other GP experts have suggested that release of this service pack would be a major milestone for encouraging adoption of the latest release of GP.

Other upcoming enhancements related to GP 2013 include the next phase of the web client, which will include Human Resources and Payroll capabilities, as well as upcoming support for SharePoint 2013 with Business Portal.

For those looking for more guidance on what else to consider after an upgrade to GP 2013, Youells has a list of other activities to consider ranging from backups and registration keys to handling third party customizations and eConnect.
