Microsoft previews Power platform admin center, the future home of converged analytics, support, management tools
Microsoft announced a public preview of its Power platform admin center today, describing it as "the go-to destination for administrators creating, managing, and supporting their environments." Those environments include PowerApps, Flow, and Common Data Service (CDS).
And because Dynamics 365 for Customer Engagement (D365CE) is built on CDS as a set of first party apps, Dynamics administrators should also begin to identify themselves as Power platform administrators and consumers of the Admin center.
The point of the new admin environment is to consolidate multiple places that admins have to go today. "The Power platform admin center will continue to add functionality until this becomes the only admin center to accomplish all tasks related to Power platform," the team wrote.
Some of the initial features aimed to draw administrators to the site include:
Self-help and product support. The Admin center will attempt to route a user directly to the tools in their application where they can perform relevant actions. For example, an issue related to storage consumption might get you routed to your storage analysis page to see how much each app and instance is consuming.
Analytics. A Power BI embedded dashboard experience with reports for Common Data Service for Apps, Microsoft Flow, and PowerApps. In the initial release, data on environments will be available for 28 days and available to tenant admins.
