Microsoft Dynamics Profile: New MVP lays out the AI, mixed reality future of Biz Apps

Chris Segurado dreamed of playing professional soccer but, as they say, "life is what happens to us when we're making other plans." And what life had in store for Segurado was a career working with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and other Microsoft technologies and the coveted title of Microsoft MVP, which he received in August.

Segurado, who lives in New York City, works as a senior consultant at Mazars, an audit, tax, and advisory firm. he implements smart ERP processes on the supply chain management, manufacturing, finance, and retail side in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations and Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement with a focus on business transformation.

Segurado played soccer at a high level in his home country of Germany and even received a scholarship to play in Florida as he studied for an MBA. Unfortunately, injuries ended his dream of playing professionally. But because of his strong academics, which included and a training program in Dynamics 365, he was able to pivot to a new career. He spoke with MSDW about his work with Microsoft technologies like mixed reality and AI, his journey from sports to business, and his involvement in the Dynamics community.

MSDW: Is being a Microsoft MVP something that you were working toward?

Segurado: Always – from the first day I learned about the MVP program. It was always my dream since I entered the industry. So I started to blog, I started to acquire certifications across Dynamics 365 [CE], Azure artificial intelligence, Supply Chain Management [SCM], and Power Platform, including Power BI and Power Apps.
