Seasonal inventory forecasting in Dynamics NAV
On the Encore Business Solutions blog, Constantine Gart wrote that recently many customers had been asking about Microsoft Dynamics NAV's capabilities to handle seasonal forecasting.
Most customers knew that Dynamics NAV could automate their inventory replenishment by keeping a minimum quantity on hand. However, they didn't know that they could also set sales/production forecasts for inventory over a specific period, he wrote.
This helps companies because changes in the seasons will increase/decrease the demand for particular items during the year, according to Gart.
In his blog, Gart explained how to set your own sales forecast by using the Production Forecast feature, which will drive future replenishment, i.e., production and/or purchases.
