Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016: Experts Begin Digging Into the Details

As today's announcement of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 general availability offered a little something for everyone, from developers to solution architects to business consultants. And as information spread through the Directions EMEA event and into the community of NAV bloggers, a few more details about the release began coming into focus.

Some of the Microsoft MVPs and others with NDA access to the preview of NAV 2016 may have been bursting at the seams to share what they already knew about the new product, while others were taking in the details for the first time. Let's take a look at a few of the highlights from today.

Magno's blog has a rundown of the new development functionality, including new stuff like the new C/AL editor and some warnings about some potential low level coding conflicts.

Roberto Stefanetti is eager to look at NAV 2016 workflow concepts and setup. His detailed post steps through definitions of the meaning of the various components of the NAV workflow approach, as well as the implementation. And Eric Wauters performed the impressive task of simultaneously attending and writing about a session on NAV 2016 workflow for developers while at Directions today. He follows a presenter's fifteen minute demo to build a new workflow and the opportunities to customize around the framework.

And Aleksandar Totovic shares some thoughts on the availability of the new NAV 2016 smartphone client.
