Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015 general availability set for October

Microsoft confirmed that Dynamics NAV 2015, the next major release of the product, will hit general availability (GA). The announcement came at the Directions 2014 US, though Microsoft has not yet made any public announcement.

New customers will reportedly have access on October 1 and existing customers will get the new release on October 6.

Luc Van Vugt shared details from NAV program management director Marko Perisic's presentation at the conference. Among them, he reports that Microsoft improved new customer adds by 35% in fiscal 2014, and has the five year goal of doubling NAV's customer base to more than 200,000.

NAV 2015 will enhance its integration with Office 365, and it will also integrate with Microsoft Social Listening, Here are other facts and figures Van Vugt captured (we've converted it into bullets from the original post):

  • a 30% faster Web Client with 4x less bandwidth;
  • 75% less merge issue with tje data upgrading (merge) utilities;
  • 35 % more customers adds in FY14;
  • passing the 1000.000 customers in FY14 MS has set the goal of another 100.000 in the next 5 years;
  • the tablet client will be available for the three major tablet OSs and free for download from these store: App Store, Google Play and Windows Store."
