Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 will add multi-tenancy, Office 365 interoperability, SharePoint deployment

Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2, formerly known as Sicily, will be released in October 2013, Microsoft announced today. R2 will feature improved interoperability with Office 365, including single sign on, deployment to SharePoint sites (Online and on-premise), as well as multitenant hosting on both Azure and partner-hosted deployments.

Paul White, senior director of Microsoft Dynamics ERP, today will highlight key improvements in the upcoming release, Microsoft tells us. These improvements include the enhanced cash management (here is a new update on the cash management features) and user interface enhancements that give the solution a look and feel that is consistent with Office 365.

Here is more explanation from Microsoft on what the SharePoint deployment aspect brings to NAV 2013 R2:

"With this release of Microsoft Dynamics NAV it is now possible to access Microsoft Dynamics NAV data within SharePoint sites. Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 allows Microsoft Dynamics NAV to be deployed as an application to one or more SharePoint sites - either on premise or online -- and takes advantage of online authentication with support for LiveID, OrgID as well as Microsoft Dynamics NAV credentials.   With Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2, you can open and run Microsoft Dynamics NAV from within Office 365.
