Dynamics GP 18.8 upgrade planning - let's get started!

On the Dynamics GP Support and Services blog, Lucas Miller noted that there's another release coming and with it a new blog series. In this post, Miller focused on planning your upgrade.

Miller wrote that the first step is always to run a test upgrade. He stated this isn't just ensuring the databases upgrade correctly, it's also about testing your applications. 

He stated that if you use third-party tools or have customizations, you'll have to confirm they still work on the new version. And he added you shouldn't forget your integrations, such as eConnect, integration manager, and others. He noted that these don't always upgrade smoothly, and in some cases, especially with integration manager, you may need to rebuild them.

Miller also reminded you to check the Upgrade Hot Topic page, your go-to spot for upgrade paths, known issues, and updates. That's where the team posts any problems they discover. He noted that you should review it before each upgrade to ensure you're working with the latest information.

Microsoft announces 2025 price increase for Dynamics GP customer service and support plans

On the Cal Business Solutions blog, Amy Mackiewicz wrote that beginning October 1, 2025, Microsoft will implement another price increase for its Microsoft Dynamics GP customer service and support plans.
