Dynamics GP GPConnNet ReturnCode 131074: One Possible Cause

On the Dynamics GP Land blog, Steve Endow tells us that recently a customer contacted him to say that an eConnect integration suddenly stopped working.

The customer had been using the integration for a few years without issue, but suddenly, it returned an error of "ExecuteNonQuery requires an open and available connection."

The error message is pretty straightforward - the integration was failing to get a connection to SQL Server, but we didn't know why.

It seemed the only change the client made was resetting the password for the GP user who was using the integration. Then recently while he working on a different eConnect integration, he saw the same problem. GPConnNet wasn't returning an open connection.
