Microsoft Dynamics CRM Still Rich Ground for ISVs, Partners, Says Mobile Solutions Vendor

With Dynamics CRM development coming fast and furious from Microsoft in 2016 and beyond, what is left for ISVs to do?

Plenty, says Ivan Stano, chief operating officer (COO) of Resco.net, Inc. And there always will be value to be added, as long as certain requirements persist like:

  • non-CRM users (like volunteers and hotel customers) can benefit from CRM data
  • companies want highly-customized interfaces
  • companies understand that maintaining custom apps requires years of commitment and in-house expertise.

While Resco remains an independent vendor of its Mobile CRM client for Dynamics CRM, it is also integral to Microsoft's 2015 acquisition of FieldOne. Resco has had a long-standing partnership with FieldOne, and still provide's the solution's mobile app for field service workers.

"Mobility and mobile technologies is Resco's core focus and expertise," says Stano. The company has been involved in the mobile IT space since 1999, long before smart devices, when they developed applications for early versions of the Palm Pilot. The company has approached mobility from all angles, for end users, app creators, and enterprises. About seven years ago, Resco identified CRM as a hot area for development. "We focused our mobile experience and know-how on CRM, and created our flagship product for Microsoft Dynamics CRM," says Stano.

We asked Stano to describe the Resco/Microsoft partnership and the opportunities that still exist for Dynamics CRM ISVs and partners.

Between Microsoft's releasing its Mobile SDK for Dynamics CRM and the Azure Mobile Apps connector, is your biggest competitor Microsoft itself?
