To Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 Users: Microsoft Wants to Know More About Your Experiences

Now that the Microsoft AX team has the introduction of AX 2009 under way, it is turning its attention to studying in detail the upgrade and implementation experiences of AX 4.0 users.

In a letter sent to users and user groups, Bill Clough, Microsoft's Research Manager, Dynamics Product Planning, stated, "We are currently running a detailed research project looking at individual implementation experience with Dynamics AX 4.0. Based on the Sure Step phases of a best-practice implementation (from Design through Operation), we break down each of the six phases looking at the time invested by you as well as partners, the critical elements of each phase, the pain points and your recommendations for improvements."

The research results "will be shared with all participants, allowing you to compare and learn from both your experience as well as the aggregate participant group." He promises that all personal and company identifying info will be kept private.

Results are expected to compare users' investment in AX 4.0, where implementation time was spent, and the most critical implementation areas.

The research project seems another example of the "new listening and caring" by Microsoft discussed by MSDynamicsWorld columnist David Roys recently in a column about Dynamics NAV.
