Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 Cumulative Update 7: What the experts are excited about

Microsoft released Dynamics AX 2012 R2 Cumulative Update 7 (CU7) last week, and it offers a range of enhancements and new features for the core product, as well as some important new and improved integrations to other Microsoft software.  To understand which updates are going to be most interesting, we asked a few experts for their views.

"Most of the enhancements in Dynamics AX 2012 CU7 are long awaited for various business sectors," says Intergen's Muhammad Burhan. 

Like Anikiiev, Burhan also points to the data Import/Export framework's integration into the CU7 foundation layer as an important improvement. "Microsoft has provided 80+ out of the box entities; this will reduce the effort and time of data migration," he explained. "The improvement in report transmission is also significant.  Now, it is possible to configure the system for sending reports to a specific job, vendor and customer."

Burhan says he is also excited about the continued progress Microsoft is making in integrating AX with other products.  "This particular update makes Microsoft Dynamics ERP more competitive."
