Update sandbox environments to preview versions

On his blog, Stefano Demiliani wrote that it's become standard practice among many partners to create a new sandbox environment with the released preview version at the start of each public preview period for a major Business Central release, which typically occurs in March and September.

He stated that this allows them to explore and test the new functionalities in a controlled space before the version is rolled out more widely.

Demiliani noted that what's less widely known, however, is that there's now another option available. In addition to creating a new sandbox, you can also choose to update one of your existing sandbox environments directly to the public preview version.

He wrote that this new capability provides an important advantage. By upgrading an existing sandbox, you can try out upcoming features with your own data and extensions, including per-tenant and AppSource apps.

He then wrote that it’s good to see Microsoft investing in Copilot and AI-driven features, but it's hard to ignore how few meaningful updates there are in core areas, such as development and reporting.
