Error configuring master data management in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

On his blog, Ian Grieve wrote that master data management was introduced in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central 2023 Wave 1, allowing users to sync setup and master data across companies within the same environment.

He stated that while this functionality was beneficial in one of his recent project, he faced an issue when he was attempting to enable it for certain selected tables and fields. He investigated the issue and found that it stemmed from his partner license on the client's system, which doesn't allow him to create or run job queues.

Grieve explained that the workaround is either to create an account on the client’s system with a full D365BC Essentials license for the duration of the project or have someone from the client manage any tasks involving job queues.

He wrote that both options are inconvenient. He also stated that Microsoft has imposed this restriction for reasons that aren’t very clear, making the situation challenging.

On the Dynamics Square blog, Awanish Kumar wrote that D365BC makes managing sales and marketing easier with a wide range of helpful tools. It helps companies simplify a variety of tasks, including creating and handling sales quotes, orders, and invoices. Kumar also stated that D365BC lets users track sales opportunities, manage customer relationships, and automate tasks to ensure timely approvals and follow-ups.
