Error creating a data source in Jet Reports with Dynamics 365 Business Central
Writing on his blog, Ian Grieve stated that a colleague reached out to him for help while setting up Jet Reports for a client because he had a good amount of experience with the software.
He wrote that they had installed the extension and were trying to connect it to Business Central, but they kept getting the following error message every time they tried:
Jet Reports
Invoking the web service failed with the following message:
The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.
Grieve noted that when they first asked for help with logging into the data source, he initially thought it was the common issue where a Microsoft 365 admin needs to log in first. However, he stated that when they showed him the error message, he realized it was something else.
Grieve then explained what the issue was and how to resolve it.
