How Business Central and Outlook can work hand-in-hand

An author writing on the Syvantis Technologies blog noted that although you can integrate Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central within an Outlook account, you can also open up and work within D365BC right from your Outlook window.

However, the author wrote that even though D365BC and Outlook may inherently "talk to each other," you still need to formally open a window between the two applications to actually use D365BC within Outlook. That’s where the add-in comes into play, the author stated.

The author noted that the add-in to use D365BC within Outlook is basically a pared-down user interface of the entire D365BC app. The author stated that the add-in, built by Microsoft, is neatly packaged down to an easy-to-use window within Outlook, making it easier to use different parts of the ERP without having the entire D365BC application open in front of you.

In the blog post, the author explained how to install the D365BC add-in for Outlook and provided information about all the tasks you can do with this add-in.
