Efficient ways to batch invoice in Business Central

Writing on her blog, Cynthia Priebe noted that if you invoice all the orders that you've shipped at the end of each day or maybe even at the end of the week, there are two different ways to "batch invoice" in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. In her blog post, Priebe wrote about the batch post option. 

She offered this scenario: it's the end of the end of the week and you're ready to invoice your customers for everything that has been shipped. However, she pointed out that your customers require that each invoice only includes shipments from a single order, which means you have to invoice order-by-order. 

In addition, Priebe added that you also have to add or change the date of the invoice to the date that you generate it, which is not only time-consuming but adds additional work to the process.

Whether using Batch Post or not, if you want help minimizing misassigned posting and document dates on shipping and/or invoicing, you will want to consider how you have set Sales & Receivable Setup Default Posting Date and Link Doc. Date to Posting Date.

Priebe then discussed the issues you could run into doing this. Next, she explained the batch invoice feature in D365BC. She wrote that you can use batch posting for shipping, invoicing, or shipping and invoicing and provided information on how to use it.
