Setup intelligent cloud for Business Central

On his fajdiga.info blog, Renato Fajdiga explained how to set up the connection between Business Central on-premises and Business Central online via the intelligent cloud.

With the intelligent cloud functionality, on-premises users can take advantage of Business Central cloud solutions, such as integration with AI and the Power Platform.

First step which we need is to be sure that our database is at least at Compatibility Level: 130. Next prerequisites is that we have at least one SQL user on that database, and that it is possible to connect to database with that user.

Dynamics 365 Business Central and per-tenant extensions: Check page control names between platform upgrades

On the Stefano Demiliani Technical Blog, Demiliani stated that in the past he's talked a lot about the pros and cons of per-tenant extensions (PTE) in D365 Business Central.

He noted that despite Microsoft's guidance to use AppSource, using PTEs is really the most common way for partners to deploy their extensions on a SaaS environment. He added that his is also the recommended way to develop specific customizations for a customer tenant.

Unfortunately, the partners live with the per-tenant extensions is not so easy nowadays  because (in my personal opinion) Microsoft has an internal process for managing PTEs that must be absolutely [rethought].

In his blog post, Demiliani discussed a "very noisy problem" that he encountered on a customers SaaS tenant. You can read about it here.
