Microsoft has purchased Junction Solutions' JunctionMCR suite, a Dynamics AX solution for multichannel retail, and will be rolling it into the Dynamics AX 2012 R3 release due in May according to Junction.

JunctionMCR is a suite of solutions that provides cross-channel visibility between stores, web, and catalog/call center operations. Capabilities include merchandising, pricing and promotions, customer service, call center operations, inventory management, high-volume warehouse pick and pack operations, small parcel order fulfillment, and direct store delivery operations.

Adding more multichannel capabilities to Dynamics AX and Dynamics for Retail would seem to align with what industry director Michael Griffiths described at Convergence 2014 as more R&D investment and "end-to-end innovation".

JunctionMCR has been a stalwart of our partner roundup articles over the last three years, picking up clients like Simon Pearce and signing various partnerships across the channel. With the purchase, these tools will now be available for use by all Dynamics AX partners deploying AX 2012 R3 to retail and direct marketing customers.

Junction Solutions will continue providing industry-specific solutions based on Dynamics AX, the company said in a statement
